A government employee was subjected to departmental inquiry for amassing wealth disproportionate to his known source of income. On being found guilty, he was dismissed from his service. Subsequently he was also prosecuted under the prevention of Corruption Act. He challenged the validity of prosecution on the ground that it amounted to double jeopardy. Decide.
